Zilla Parishad(ZP) President Suresh Bhoyar and Vice-President Nitin Rathi, on Monday, accused Kamptee MLA of BJP Chandrashekhar Bawankule of trying to get political mileage for himself from the works sanctioned by the Government of Maharashtra owing to follow-up taken by ZP office-bearers.
Addressing a press conference, Bhoyar and Rathi said that due to ZP's consistent follow-up, the Government sanctioned Rs.4.6447 crore for construction of Panchayat Samiti administrative building at Narkhed, Katol, Parseoni, Mouda, Kuhi, Umrer, Bhiwapur and Kamptee. At Narkhed and Katol, works had already started and remaining work would commence from May 18. The works would take at least one year for completion.
ZP received fund with co-operation of then Chief Minister Ashok Chavan, Rural Development Minister Jayant Patil, Union Minister of Social Justice Mukul Wasnik, Food and Civil Supplies Minister Anil Deshmukh and due to follow-up by Congress-NCP led ZP.
"Still, Bawakule has alleged that ZP was not starting works of Panchayat Samiti building due to political vendetta. Bawankule never extends cooperation to ZP to fetch funds from Government. However, he is always on the forefront to claim credit for any development work." said Bhoyar. He also alleged that Bawankule was creating hurdles in development works being executed by ZP. Bawankule should focus on some other pending works try fetch funds for them, Rathi said.
